Maranoa musicians mentored by best
THE musical senses of Roma were delighted on Wednesday night, as the Queensland Symphony Orchestra performed at the Cultural Centre alongside many of our own musicians.
The regional tour, in its fourth consecutive year, collaborated with Maranoa Symphony Orchestra, Roma High School Strings, Wallumbilla State School Concert Band, Roma State College and St John's College in delivering workshops with students, professional development sessions for teachers and performing a series of free concerts for students and the wider community.
Double bass player Chloe Williamson, who hails from Roma, was part of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra ensemble for the CMR Initiative again in 2019.
"Not only do I love the opportunity to catch up with friends and family whilst performing in my hometown, I feel so blessed that I am able to join Queensland Symphony Orchestra in working so closely with students and community musicians as part of the amazing CMR Initiative,” she said.
