Brisbane man dies after dispute over loud music

A FIGHT in the front yard of a Brisbane home, allegedly over loud music, has ended with one man dead and another facing manslaughter charges.

Police discovered the remains of a 55-year-old man in the northside suburb of Boondall overnight.

Queensland Police Inspector Dan Bragg said the man's death was a sad reminder that one punch could kill.

Insp Brag said it was a tragic incident "enveloping" the two neighbours.

"Obviously there's been a dispute that has escalated to the point where police arrive and find an unconscious male."

Police believe the man and a 28-year-old fought on the Muller Road property just before 10.30pm on Thursday.

Police discovered the unconscious man soon after, but resuscitation failed.

The 55-year-old man was declared dead at 11pm.

The younger man will now face manslaughter charges.

He is expected to front Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
