Man who dumped wife's body appeals 'harsh' sentence
A TOWNSVILLE man who is yet to reveal where he dumped his dead wife's body has appealed his manslaughter sentence, claiming it is "manifestly excessive".
Michael Geoffrey Hutchinson was charged with murder after his wife, Julie, vanished from their Condon home in March, 2015.
He was found not guilty earlier this year, but was convicted of manslaughter and jailed for 15½ years.
Prosecutors alleged he killed Julie after she found out about his crippling debt.

But Hutchinson has always maintained Julie hit her head on their kitchen bench during an altercation involving several unnamed people from Melbourne.
