Man fined for drugs the day before set to attend drug course
A HERVEY Bay man was fined in court for possessing cannabis just a day before he was set to complete a drug diversion course for the same substance.
Daniel James Grice-Pym pleaded guilty to possessing dangerous drugs and possessing utensils connected with drugs.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Donna Sperling said police found drugs in Grice-Pym's Torquay bedroom when they seared the home about 9pm on January 31.
Magistrate Graeme Tatnell fined Grice-Pym $650 and no conviction was recorded.
"The drug is illegal and you can't have it," he said.
"You have just got to give it up."
Grice-Pym will complete a drug diversion course for another drug offence on Friday.
