Man faces Roma Court over drugs and fraud
THE 46-year-old man faced the Roma Magistrates Court today charged with one count each of possessing a dangerous drug and unlawful possession of a controlled drug along with three counts of fraud.
The matter was adjourned to October 31 and his application for bail was granted.
ROMA police and the Roma Major and Organised Crime Squad (Rural) have charged a man after the alleged seizure of a large amount of dangerous drugs at Roma on Monday morning.
At 9.30am on Gregory Street, police intercepted a vehicle towing a caravan and spoke to the driver in relation to previous fraud related matters.
A search was conducted of the vehicle and the caravan where it is alleged police located a large quantity of prescription tablets and a heat sealed bag containing approximately one kilogram of the drug amphetamine.
The 46-year-old male driver from Pallara was charged with one count each of possessing a dangerous drug and unlawful possession of a controlled drug along with three counts of fraud.
He is due to appear in the Roma Magistrates Court today.
Investigations are continuing.
