Man charged with shotgun threat in Hervey Bay

A MAN who allegedly threatened another man with a shotgun while on Hervey Bay's esplanade is in custody.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Briese said police allege the man, Josh Quinlan, threatened another person near the corner of Elizabeth Street and the Esplanade in Urangan.

"Around 7am on August 29, CCTV footage captured a 29-year-old male, who appeared to be brandishing a weapon at another male person before leaving the scene on a motorbike," Det Snr Sgt Dave Briese said.

"On the night of August 30, a 29-year-old male was located by police who arrested and subsequently charged the man with a number of charges including attempted armed robbery and evading police."

The man appeared in Hervey Bay Magistrate's court on August 31 but was not given bail.
