Man arrested after Roma stabbing

ROMA Police have charged a 19-year-old man following an incident involving a knife at an Elmer Street residence yesterday.

Police said that around 9.30am Saturday, two men and a woman became involved in an altercation in which a 20-year-old Roma man sustained a stab wound to the abdomen and a 20-year-old woman sustained a laceration to the left hand.

Both victims were transported to the Roma Hospital for treatment. The 20-year-old man was later air lifted to Brisbane.

The 19-year-old Roma man has been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm and wounding.

He is due to appear before the Roma Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
