Man, 57, allegedly assaulted with a table and hat rack

A LUTWYCHE man is in hospital with serious injuries to his face after a teenager allegedly hit him with a table and a hat rack.

Queensland Police Service said the 57-year-old man was injured after the teen allegedly tried to steal money from him at a unit in Wesley St about 9am on Saturday.

"Shortly after, the younger man allegedly picked up a small table and struck the older man in the head with it before further assaulting him with what is described as a wooden hat rack," QPS said in a statement.
