Man, 45, charged after assault in Gympie park

POLICE have charged a man following an assault that occurred early Sunday morning in Gympie.

It will be alleged that an altercation has occurred between a two men at a park on Jane Street around 1am.

As a result of the altercation, a 54-year-old man has sustained fractured ribs and internal injuries and was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for treatment.

A 45-year-old Graceville man has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Gympie Magistrates Court on April 13.
