Turnbull downplays threat of Trump being elected President
MALCOLM Turnbull has downplayed concerns about Donald Trump being elected president of the US.
The Prime Minister told Melbourne's Triple M radio station yesterday that irrespective of who was elected, Australia would always have a "very, very strong friend and ally in Washington".
Mr Trump has secured the Republican nomination following the withdrawal of Senator Ted Cruz and Ohio Governor John Kasich.
Mr Turnbull said rising inequality in the US was the key reason Mr Trump (pictured) had the Republican nomination "in the bag".
