Lucas' obsession with Spider-Man makes for great art
ANYONE who has been around young Lucas Shephard for more than five seconds can tell he has an obsession with Spider-Man.
So it's not really a surprise he decided to adorn the web-slinger in visual form for the C&K Maranoa Community Kindergarten Art Show on Friday night.
Wearing Spider-Man's classic red and blue and holding up the painting of his hero, Lucas said he tried to capture him heading to a certain location.
"I used reds and blues and blacks for his suit - (in the painting) he's swinging to the beach,” he said.
"I love him - I've got lots of Spider-Man books at home.”
His mother Natalie loved his painting, even if she was aware how crazy his love was for Spider-Man.
"He's obsessed. He's done pretty well - this was the first time I got to see it,” she said.
Dozens of parents and kids braved the wild weather to be at the annual event, which is now in its ninth year.
Kindy director Danielle Lee said the kids worked with accomplished artists and muscians to inspire them with their work.
"Every year, the talent of the kids just amazes me,” she said.
"When we do it, we have artists here to help the kids.”
