Look after your gut - local knowledge helps towns' health

BONE broth, collagen powder and hemp protein are buzz words in the health industry at the moment, and they have made their way to Roma.

Heidi Hays opened Lime Tree Cottage with her mother, Jenny, almost four years ago.

She said there had been an increase in people's interest in looking after their gut health.

"We've recently started stocking Nutra Organics. I have been taking the collagen glow and have noticed a big difference in my skin,” Ms Hays said.

"It's a good all rounder, good for skin, hair, nails and gut.

"Looking after your gut health is really important. Bone broth especially is great for that, creating good gut bacteria, nourishing it, and making sure the microbiome in the gut is nice and healthy.”

Ms Hays said in the long run, good gut health means a better immune system and healthier skin.

She has a background in beauty therapy and became passionate about switching to an organic, chemical-free way of life about six years ago.

"Whenever we look for new stock, we stick to a certified organic way of thinking. We know it is legit and has been tested,” she said.

"We use chemical-free products in our beauty services as well.”
