Gerard Rennick drives the voice of the bush

LNP candidate for the senate Gerard Rennick was recently in Roma to campaign for the coming federal election.

Running for the third position, Mr Rennick said it was his mission to put the people of the land first if he was elected.

Originally from Chinchilla and hailing from a generational cattle property, Mr Rennick understands the rural lifestyle, from his mother being a midwife in Chinchilla to having property out further west near Cheepie and Adavle.

"I wanted to come out to Roma to touch base with my roots," he said.

"I really want people in Roma and across regional and rural Queensland to know if I get elected into the senate in Canberra I will put their interest at the first and foremost. What we have seen over the past 30 years is a constant attack on hard working Australians, particularly in regional Queensland.

"One of the things that drives me to run is the gratitude I have towards our forefathers who made so many sacrifices to make Australia what it is and I want to make sure our kids get the same opportunity."
