LISTEN: Thieves stole over 300 items from CQ building sites

SEVEN people from three Mount Morgan addresses have been charged for drugs and in relation to over 300 items of stolen property - including a kitchen.

Homes in James St, Racecourse Rd and Nine Mile Rd were searched in three warrants since June 6 in which hundreds of stolen household and building items were uncovered.

Some of the items have been identified by the owners but there is likely to be a public viewing in the future of the remaining items. 

Detective Sergeant Jim Edwards of Rockhampton Property Crime Squad said police found power tools, trailers and scrap metal.

"There were household items as well, furniture, cupboards, kitchen cupboard, they've taken kitchen units out," he said.

"Tables were taken, there was even a bed in one instance."

He said seven people were charged with drug and property offences.

"We have charged one offender with a number of drug offences including possession and supply and also fraud," he said.

"They've been charged with four break and enters and commit premises and five burglary offences.

"There have been a number of other individuals charged in relation to a number of drug offences, only minor drug offences and we've got another adult male charged with unlawful possession of explosives and possession of a utensil. "

Another adult offender (was) charged with entering commit premises, stealing and possession of utensils."

Det Sgt Edwards said the items were stolen from the greater Rockhampton region over the past months.

"There have been a few small towns out west that have been hit," he said.

Investigations are continuing.
