Lions roar into festive season

THE Roma Lions Club brought a little joy to the community when they kicked off Christmas celebations on Friday night.

The club's park was lined with market stalls to nab early Christmas presents, Maranoa Music Inc crooned the night away with a mix of songs and Christmas carols, while the Lions served up their infamous fish and chips to hungry revellers.

The highlight of the night, however, was when the big man himself red rolled in on the back of a motorbike.

Flanked by Mrs Claus and a couple of helping elves, Santa attracted the attention of children from near and far who ran to greet him.

While Mrs Claus handed out lollies to the enamoured onlookers, children big and small recited their wish lists to Santa.
