Lions planning to nullify Suns’ attack

AFL: A refreshed Brisbane Lions will use some new plans in an attempt to win the 12th Q Clash against the Gold Coast Suns on Saturday at Metricon Stadium.

Defender Harris Andrews said last week’s bye came at the perfect time to work on a defensive plans that he hoped would nullify the Suns’ potent forward line, including Tom Lynch and NAB Rising Star nominee Peter Wright.

“We’ve looked at our defensive set-ups over the break,” the 19-year-old said.

“We’ve made some changes. A win would be massive.

“We haven’t won a game in a little while. I’m looking forward to it.”

Andrews said that while the Lions players wanted to win every game, he said clashes against the Suns did bring extra motivation.

“I think the derby has built over the last few years,” he said.

“We do go out every week and give it our all, but it is good to try and get a win over the blokes down the road.”
