Lights back on across the Maranoa

LIGHTS are back on across the Maranoa after power was restored to Roma, Mitchell and Injune.

There was a mass black out earlier this evening which affected most of Roma and parts of Mitchell and Injune.

The power was out for about an hour and a half and was restored about 50 minutes ago.

The Western Star is still waiting on a response as to what caused the outage, but we understand Ergon crews managed to fix a problem in the power supply.

There were originally reports the outage had been caused by a grass fire on the Mitchell Road which was reported to emergency services just after 9pm.

However fire fighters confirmed this was not the case.

More to come as it is known.
