‘Lightning raids’ on Charleville homes to recover stolen property

AFTER months of break-ins and thefts throughout the streets of Charleville, local police have raided a number of properties to uncover allegedly stolen items.

Charleville Police officer in charge sergeant Mark Everitt said general duties police and the Crime Investigation Brance conducted ‘lightning’ raids on several local addresses on November 20.

Search warrants were executed and police found property from a recent break and enter were found.

“A Charleville man was arrested and charged with break and enter, and receive stolen property, and is to appear in Charleville Magistrates Court in December,” sergeant Everitt said.

“A juvenile was also arrested for possessing drug related paraphernalia and will also appear in court next month.

“Charleville police are asking the community to lend us their eyes and ears, keep on the lookout for suspicious activity, and phone immediately if you see or hear suspicious activity.”

Anyone with information is urged to call Charleville police on 4650 5500, Policelink on 131 444, or triple-0 in an emergency. Your anonymity is guaranteed if requested.
