Letters: At last some rational debate over climate change

Renee Pilcher

AT LAST there is some rational debate over climate change.

US senator Jim Inhofe said recently, "The arrogance of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what He (God) is doing in the climate is to me outrageous."

And in the UK Sidney Cordell said, "I think all Christians believe that God does, and can do, things with nature. A lot of Christians believe God is angry over gay marriage and God can show that anger."

White House correspondent Bill Koenig has invoked the Californian drought to heavenly retribution. "We've got a state that, over and over again, will go against the word of God, that will continually take positions on marriage and abortion and on a lot of things that are just completely opposed to the Scriptures. Unfortunately, a lot of times what starts in California, spreads to the rest of the country and to the rest of the world. So the drought is a component to this judgment."

Michael Marcavage claimed that 2005 Hurricane Katrina was God's retribution for gay wickedness.

"This act of God destroyed a wicked city," he said.

And Janet Folger Porter said gay marriage was behind Noah's flood and the Supreme Court striking down bans on gay marriage, would lead to the Second Coming of Christ and the end times.

Gay marriage and wickedness, not El Nino is responsible for the ongoing drought conditions in Australia.

You have been told.
