OPINION: Let’s see a live-action Star Wars TV series

I WOULD love to see a live-action series based on Star Wars.

The long-term plan for the films means fans will be able to see more Jedi than they can poke a staff at between now and 2020, when an untitled film based on bounty hunter Boba Fett is planned for release.

As a fan I can't wait to repeatedly watch each of the five upcoming films (I've already seen The Force Awakens once), but I'd love to see a dark, gritty, Netflix original-style series similar to Marvel's Daredevil.

My prayers could be answered sooner than I think as a live-action series may or may not be in the works (there is a lot of conjecture), but I am happy to suggest a few storylines.

  • Boba Fett: A series based on the galaxy's most memorable bounty hunter would be unreal.

I refuse to accept Attack of the Clones' explanation he is a clone of Jango Fett, and even if he is, he still has to develop the skills.

A series that follows Boba's progression from orphaned child to the deadliest man in the galaxy who doesn't use the Force would be incredible.

  • Revan: A little-known Jedi-turned-Sith Lord, Revan is a central character in the Knights of the Old Republic games (set only 4000 years before A New Hope).

A series based around that time on his rise to power would be exclusive of anything done in the films, and is a whole new story to explore.

  • Hutts: I want to see how Jabba the Hutt (the giant slug from the original trilogy) became so powerful.

The Hutts are essentially a mob, so it would mean a Sopranos-style series set in the Star Wars universe.
