Knife pulled on police during arrest

A MAN has allegedly pulled a knife on police at a train station near Brisbane.

Police found the man at the train station near St Vincents Road at Banyo after they were called to reports of a possibly armed person acting suspiciously near local shops. 

Police arrived and located the man standing on the platform at the railway station. Officers, standing on the opposite platform, yelled at the man to get on the ground.

He did so but then stood up and pulled the knife.

Police report the man fled south along St Vincents Road. Police caught up with him quickly.

The man was taken into custody after eventually complying with police directions and dropping the knife.

The man received treatment in hospital for a laceration to his hand.

The 24-year-old Boondall manwas also charged with serious assault police and obstruct police.
