Justin is hitting all the targets
ARCHERY: JUSTIN Richters has his target set on improving his archery and making new friends at the Maranoa Archers Association.
The 14-year-old always enjoyed watching archery on the television, but it wasn't until his friend Sam Simpson introduced him to the sport that he became hooked.
"My friend Sam introduced me to the sport, and I can't get enough of it," he said.
Justin said archery was something he could do on the weekend instead of sitting around.
"When I started six months ago, I wasn't very good," he said.
"I love shooting three-dimensional targets - that's the best part.
"I shoot off the white peg with a maximum distance of 27 metres.
"I now shoot 124 out of 200, so I'm getting better every weekend."
Justin said he enjoyed archery and hoped to continue the sport later in life. "Archery is a great sport, and I love the challenge and being outdoors," he said.
"It's good to have a friendly competition between Sam and me."
Ian Radford of the Maranoa Archers Association said Justin loved to be involved with the club.
"He is a great kid. He helps bring the targets out every weekend, and really wants to be involved in promoting the club and getting more young kids involved in archery," he said.
