Juniors strap on their boots

JUNIOR RUGBY LEAGUE: This Saturday's Roma and District Junior Rugby League grand final day will be a melting pot of the best junior southwest players the region has to offer.

The day will kick off at 8.30am with Under-6 games taking place on both Cities ovals.

On the main oval there will be the final round of the Vince O'Brien Elders Shield, also starting at 8.30am, for the U10 teams.

In the U10 age group, the Saint Maroon side, currently undefeated in this arena, will be looking at continuing their run when they play their final game against Lion Cubs who will be eager to stage an upset.

Other games will be Bull Green v Mitchell and Tiger Cubs v Saint white.

These games are set to be great contests as this competition has been very close.

Looking to continue their season of dominance, the U12 Saint Maroon side will do battle against Saint White.

This should be a good match up with both sides showing form heading into the finals.

To round out the day we will have the U14 clash between Western Ringers and St George.

St George came to town last week and took on the Bendaroo Bulls to book their spot in the grand final, which was a tremendous effort given they had news that their young mate - Williki Collins - had passed away from a tragic car accident just one week before.

This game will be a great round out to what has been a great junior rugby league season with the Western Ringers heading into this match as favourites.

After the last game there will be the presentation of the representative perpetual trophies from this year as well as the Bruton Shield Player of the Day.

If you are a fan of rugby league, mark this in your calendar and head out to Cities Oval to see season 2018 out with a bang.

Roma and District Junior Rugby League also thanked Condon Financial for the generous sponsorship through the year.

Condon Financial have come on board this year as a major sponsor for the competition with Rory Condon and Mark Treasure supporting junior rugby league in the region.
