MAP: Road closures in Western Queensland after rain
12.30am: A NUMBER of roads in Central West Queensland are closed after the region received heavy rain overnight.
The Bureau of Meteorology website shows Barcaldine has recorded 53mm since 9am today, while Longreach had 58.3mm up until 9am and another 1.8mm until noon.
Below is a map showing a number of roads in the region closed, according to 131940.qld.gov.au.
8am: JUNE appears to be the month of breaking weather records for 2016 with Longreach the latest to break a record.
Last week, eight Queensland towns broke their maximum temperature records for June.

This morning, Longreach has broken its rain record for the winter month.

Higgins Storm Chasers posted about the record breaking event at 7am today: "(Longreach has had) 54mm since 9am breaks their 51mm record from 2005."
"Showers and storms have continued all night and are still active this morning between Winton and Blackall. Reports of more than 75mm are coming out of the area locally around Longreach, while Ilfracombe has picked up another 27mm. This is the 3rd lot of rain in 11 days now."
