A WALLUMBILLA pipeline project is set to boost the region's economy.

The project will provide employment opportunities with APA Group and East Coast Pipeline jointly calling on local contractors, suppliers and service providers to register their interest in contributing to construction of the Reedy Creek Wallumbilla Pipeline Project.

APA announced in October last year it would design, build, own and operate a new 50-kilometre, bi-directional gas transmission pipeline between its Wallumbilla Hub and the Australia Pacific LNG Facility at Reedy Creek.

The Reedy Creek project is underpinned by a new 20-year contract to provide up to 300 terajoules of gas per day.

As part of the project, APA will also construct the associated connection and compression facilities at Wallumbilla.

APA will partner with East Coast Pipeline to deliver the Reedy Creek Project.

East Coast Pipeline will evaluate applications and move the successful business into the preferred supplier portal.

"APA and East Coast Pipeline have a strong commitment to engaging local industry, suppliers and workforce personnel during the life cycle of the RCWP Project,” an ECP spokesperson said.

"Apart from the broader network benefits the pipeline will deliver over the long-term, there is great potential for a boost community and regional economies both during and after construction. That's why we want as many local contractors and suppliers as possible to register their interest.”

Information sessions to outline opportunities to participate in this project will held at the Wallumbilla Community Hall on Monday at 2.30pm and in Roma at the Roma Cultural Centre on Tuesday at 10.30am.
