Investigation continues into deadly Melbourne lake crash
A MOTHER of seven children, three of whom died after a car crashed into a lake in Melbourne this week, was taken into police custody on Thursday afternoon.
Victoria Police told reporters at the scene of the Wyndham Vale crash the mother, 35, was helping them with their investigation.
It remains unclear how the woman drove off the road, over a footpath and into Lake Gladman on Wednesday afternoon.
One of her children died at the scene, a second died on the way to hospital and a third died in hospital. A fourth child was seriously injured.
