Injune ‘institution’ Jane Cosh hangs up boots

AN "institution out in Injune" is how registered nurse Jane Cosh has been fondly described.

Mrs Cosh will be greatly missed by her staff and friends at Blue Care after she retired last week.

For 30 years she visited clients in their own homes across the district providing services which make a difference to the lives of so many people.

Blue Care's Injune service started with Mrs Cosh, and several years ago it expanded to include registered nurse Karel-Anne Collie who will capably take over the nursing reigns and Heather Jones who will continue as a personal carer.

Blue Care Maranoa community care service manager Kelli Partridge said Mrs Cosh's caring work extended beyond Blue Care.

"Jane is an institution in Injune and she will be missed," Mrs Partridge said.

"She always has the community's interests at heart and has been involved in many local events, such as camp drafts, Meals on Wheels and the hospital auxiliary."

Mrs Cosh said she would remain busy caring for her mother, spending time with family, community work and downsizing the cattle grazing business she shares with husband Bruce.

"I'm ready to retire as a nurse though I am really going to miss visiting the older people of this community," she said.

"They have been a great inspiration to me.

"The stories they have and the lives they have led are incredible.

"Being a community nurse you get to be part of so many people's lives.

"I have so many great memories with Blue Care it's hard to pinpoint one."
