Injune Cypress sawmill on fire

INJUNE Cypress sawmill is currently on fire, with firefighters working to contain the large blaze.

Acting Inspector for the Roma command Brian Harvey said fast winds were becoming an issue.

"We are currently trying to protect two structures as well as multiple stacks of timber," he said.

"We are dealing with 30-40 kt winds up here at the moment."

Several units are on site including two urban's from Roma, one urban from Injune, a rural unit and a command vehicle.

Water tankers are also on the scene.

All persons have been accounted for and one firefighter is being treated for heat exhaustion.
