Roma's Easter in the Country celebrations were a little more vibrant this year when hundreds of raring runners and walkers participated in the Senex Colour Xplosion fun run on Easter Sunday.

Kicking off at Basset Park, young and old were showered in a dynamic explosion of colour as participants completed the 5km course, with six colour stations turning them into a walking kaleidoscope.

Zach Millar and Kendrick Treadwell were the first two competitors to cross the finish line, in just under 25 minutes.

Travelling from Miles and Brisbane, the teenage boys keep fit by playing AFL back home.

"It was really cool running while seeing pops of colour being thrown everywhere," Treadwell said.

The fifth annual Colour Xplosion fun run partnered with PCYC Maranoa to create the family friendly event that promotes fitness and having fun.
