How comedian Chris Franklin is lending a helping hand
HE MIGHT portray one of the most foul-mouthed characters in Australian comedian, but funny-man Chris Franklin is coming to Roma to deliver an important message.
Mr Franklin, the man behind 'The Bloke' and the owner of a number one Australian hit in 2000, will be performing at the White Bull Tavern tomorrow night to give the country residents a well-deserved laugh.
He said the only reason he is up this way is because of the request of one local fan.
"The reason I'm going to Roma was because a fan of mine said when am I going to Roma," he said.
"So it was actually a local who told us to come up."
Mr Franklin said his stand-up show resonates with people in country towns like Roma because of the relatable subject matters.
"I talk about things like beer, football and failed relationships - I'm good at all those things," he said.
"It is exaggerated - I find that I only swear on stage.
"I'm a relatable person and it's not only the show - it's before and after the show and we just are a couple of blokes who come and have a beer."

The Shout a Mate tour is designed to let drought-affected and isolated people in regional Australia forget about their problems for a while.
Mr Franklin said there is always at least story he takes away from every show.
"There is always someone at every show, like in Muttaburra in Queensland, where we were just sitting and the whole community of just 60 people turned up," he said.
"After a few beers, you get the stories of Bill up the road who took his life and you end up with big hard blokes tearing up.
"That makes the whole thing important."
Chris Franklin will be at the White Bull Tavern from 6pm tomorrow might. Entry is free.
