How a family home can fit on a 250sq m block

YES, you can build a three-bedroom home with two bathrooms on a 250sq m lot and still have room for a patch of grass.

Stockland has provided examples of the type of homes designed by Integrale Homes that can be built on their smallest blocks in the Sunshine Coast's newest city, Aura.

And while the homes don't exactly have room for a gumtree, a sheep or two and a kangaroo, there will be a clothesline out the back and maybe even a veranda.

Heck, there's even room for a walk-in wardrobe.

Stockland Sunshine Coast regional manager Ben Simpson said the 250sq m lot sizes were suited "to the latest home designs for modern living, and typically feature three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a single garage, indoor and outdoor living areas, innovative use of space, clever storage options and reduced living costs".

"Our smaller home sites are an increasingly popular option for people looking for a low-maintenance lifestyle within 400 metres of parks and playground and close to shopping, entertainment and employment hubs," he said.

There is also a wide variety of lots sizes, ranging from 250sq m to 935sq m.

The average lot size is around 420sq m.

And on this piece of dirt you could fashion a house and land package featuring four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a double garage.

"With affordability being one of the top priorities for many new home buyers, Stockland is committed to providing opportunities for first home buyers and those on a budget to own a home that is not only sustainable and desirable but also in a thriving, well-serviced location," Mr Simpson said.
