TWO local hotels have been broken into with quantities of alcohol stolen from both premises.

Mount Morgan's Grand Hotel was broken into between 10pm on Monday and 6.30am yesterday with a quantity of alcohol stolen from behind the bar.

Authorities confirmed damage was done to one of the front doors and a glass panel upstairs. It's believed the front door was damaged by a large object.

Police have viewed CCTV footage of the crime.

Rockhampton's Ascot Hotel was also broken into in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police confirmed the break-in happened at 1am and that three cartons of beer were stolen from the back of the building.

It's believed the offenders broke in through a roller door at the rear of the business.
