Horns up for the Bulls

RUGBY LEAGUE: The Wallumbilla/Surat Red Bulls have taken out the Under 18's title at Bassett Park on the weekend, after a commanding 63 - 16 victory against the Mitchell Magpies.

In contrast to the thrilling nail-biter in the 16's, the match followed a different narrative as the Red Bulls never looked troubled in their match against a valiant Magpies side.

Coach Ryan Wehl said while it was unfortunate the final scoreline was so one-sided, he was proud of his players' performance on the afternoon.

"You never want to see a grand final played in those circumstances where the score blows out but it was satisfying to see the boys be clinical,” he said.

"They played well and didn't really give Mitchell a look in.”

Post match, the players greeted their loyal fans on the sidelines and were able to reflect on a season when they didn't lose a game.

The victory book-ended a remarkable season for the Red Bulls who won two out of the four senior titles while making the grand final of the A-grade and ensuring a bright future ahead for the club.

Many of the players would back up their victory in the 18's to field spots in the A-grade side later in the afternoon with the Red Bulls eventually losing to the Bulldogs.
