Hodgson Hall is ready for Santa Claus

FOR Kylie Sabine, the Hodgson Hall Christmas tree holds some very fond memories - something she hopes to impart on her children, Amy and Mya.

The Hodgson Soldiers Memorial Hall committee member said she remembered when she first met Santa at the hall and wanted to keep the tradition alive.

"It's something we hold every year, I can remember going to the Christmas tree since I was 10 years old," she said.

"This year we have 65 children registered and the numbers keep growing every year, so December 12 is a big night."

Ms Sabine said the barbecue will start from 6pm, with Santa arriving at 7.30pm and the fun continuing into the night with an old-time dance.

"The kids are always excited to see Santa, as he arrives in many different ways every year," she said.

"It could be a horse and cart or buggy.

"I'm very excited to have the old-time dance back - an old-time dance group will come out for the night to help entertain the locals."

Ms Sabine said the hall had been through a lot, with a severe storm in 2005 leaving only the floor.

"The hall committee worked hard to rebuild the hall, it reopened in 2007 and continues to get great community support for our monthly socials and events," she said.

The barbecue starts at 6pm and tickets are $15 each. RSVP for the barbecue by Saturday, December 5.

Please bring a salad or sweet to share at the barbecue.

Anyone interested in attending can phone Kylie Sabine on 0448 528 462.
