MARANOA residents are being advised to batten down the hatches with heavy rain predicted.

The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast substantial rainfall for the region over the next six days.

BOM have predicted a 90% chance of rainfall tomorrow with the possibility of a thunderstorm.

Residents are asked to keep an eye on all creeks and crossings as recent rainfall has filled the catchment area.

Remember, if it's flooded, forget it.
