Pregnant driver returns positive drug test

A HEAVILY pregnant P-Plater will face court after allegedly returning a positive result for cannabis at a roadside drug test.

The 22-year-old, who was 35 weeks pregnant, was stopped by highway patrol officers on Iolanthe St in South Grafton about 12.45pm yesterday.

Her two children and an adult male were also in the car at the time.

When tested by police, she allegedly returned a positive indication to an illicit drug.

She was arrested and conveyed to a drug bus where she supplied a secondary oral sample which police said returned a positive result to cannabis.

As a result she was prohibited from driving for 24 hours pending further court action.
