Target Country having a bauball for BlueCare
EDNA Walker has always loved helping others - now she's make it her job to do so.
The front desk worker at Target Country has sold hundreds of the store's cardboard bauballs, which are raising money for BlueCare to get presents to needy people in south-west Queensland this Christmas.
The Roma store is currently sitting second in Queensland for bauballs sold, with a whopping total of 1100 from a population of 8000 as of Wednesday.
To put into perspective, Maroochydore sit on top with a total of 1900 - from a population of 47,000.
Ms Walker said her time with Lions Club of Roma had given her perspective about need for community spirit.
"I've learnt from Lions that you've got to give back," she said.
BlueCare south-west service manager Sue Harrison said every cent from the money raised in the drive would be going to those who need it.
"We want people to know that anyone who needs it will be getting help from us this Christmas," she said.
"We'll be working with the other not-for-profit groups to find those that need it and help them.
"The generosity and dedication from the community and the staff here at Target is great."
