ACCESS to quality, affordable transport options is is imperative to the growth of the Queensland agricultural industry, according to AgForce as it launches its new campaign.

AgForce Queensland transport committee chairman Leo Neill-Ballantine said each year more than 80 million tonnes of agricultural output is moved between farms, storage, processors and markets, making up 40 per cent of a farmer's production cost.

"#connectqld campaign is vital to ensuring the transport network is operating at its best,” Mr Neill-Ballantine said.

"We need to make sure it isn't only our high-quality products that get to their destination on time and in one piece, but our farmers and transporters too.

"When a section of road or a bridge isn't up to an acceptable standard, this has flow-on costs, which all adds up.

"If you use the road network regularly, we want to hear from you. Without your input, we're not getting the real story.”
