Have you got what it takes?

RUGBY LEAGUE: FOOTY devotees with know-how and qualifications could be the perfect fit for an enduring Red Bulls squad, which is seeking coaches for the upcoming Roma and District Rugby League season.

Having achieved notable successes last year, the club has a taste for it and is on the hunt for coaches to continue its dynasty.

Wallumbilla-Surat Red Bulls president, Tim Klaas, said a love of outback footy was an obvious requirement, but applicants would need to bring a few more things to the table.

"It is mandatory to have an accreditation now, even in the Roma District competition they need a club coaching accreditation, which is run through the NRL.

"The NRL takes coaching seriously and the accreditation is something they're doing to take a consistent approach to training, particularly in rural rugby league.

"Knowledge of the game just isn't enough these days, so you are basically looking for a jack of all trades - someone who knows how to deal with players, knows the game itself, has a philosophy on what they want to achieve, and a plan based on how good the opposition sides are,” he said.

Mr Klaas said the club would take in coaches for each grade in the district league.

"We've got four grades - under 16s, under 18s, reserve grade and A-grade - so we will be looking for at least four coaches.

"Coaching them would be a very good challenge, with similar players again this year and we might be gaining a few more,” he said.

Applications are due to the club by January 8.
