Groceries going online

WOOLWORTHS has announced it will be bringing the click and collect service to Roma.

Rumours that Woolworths Roma would not be implementing the service have been extinguished, announcing the click and collect service will be coming to town this year.

The service said Woolworth s is vital to nurturing the needs of those that prefer online shopping said a Woolworths spokesperson.

"This allows customers that prefer to order their shopping online to collect it from their local Woolworths and BWS store,” the spokesperson said.

"They consider it as a convenient way to do their shopping.”

The service is completely free and items purchased online via click and collect, are exactly the same price as in store, including those on special said Woolworths.

"Customers just simply choose a collection location when they place the order,” the spokesperson said.

Click and collect has been adopted successfully in many areas of Queensland but the driving force of it coming to Roma has been the people themselves.

"Woolworths Roma has decided to adopt click-and-collect after receiving in-store and online feedback,” the spokesperson said.

"Its customers that wanted to access this service and they consider it as a convenient way to do their shopping.”

For Holly Bastian and Alice cooper who regularly shop at Woolworths, the click and collect service is a great idea.

"After a long day of work when you're exhausted its easier to be able to organise it and just go and pick them up,” Ms Bastian said.

"It also stops you buying things you're trying to avoid in store and forces you to think about what you're buying,” Ms Cooper said.

Woolworths Roma will adopt the service early this year.
