Green players supported via grant for Yuleba bowling club

THE NEXT generation of keen lawn bowlers will have every opportunity to excel, thanks to a new program being introduced by the Yuleba and District Bowls Club.

It comes alongside the announcement that the club will receive an $8410 grant to improve their bowling green.

The club bringing in the junior development program has been welcomed by Maranoa MP David Littleproud, who has lent his support to Yuleba Bowls.

“Paving the way for people of all ages to participate is a great idea because it gets us out there trying new things and, ultimately, brings on a new generation of bowlers,” Mr Littleproud said.

“It’s a family-friendly environment, and the Yuleba and District Bowls Club are really motivated to make this family-friendly club expand into the future.”

Mr Littlepround is advocating for community connection and improvement, adding the upgrades will have roll-on effect on quality of life and community support in Yuleba.

“Making improvements to the Yuleba and District Bowls Club reflects this,” Mr Littleproud said.

“Regional communities are the heart of this country and I want to make sure that small capital projects are funded and the community gets what it needs.”

Round 5 of the Stronger Communities has given $150,000 in Federal Government funding made available to Maranoa community groups.

Project grants range from $2500 to $20,000 to help bolster rural communities.
