Great Scot! Social media saves man from wedding gaffe
IT WAS the wedding that almost hosted a forgetful Scotsman wearing… very little.
But an appeal on social media and a rallying Toowoomba crowd meant Dr Sean MacPherson arrived at his cousin's wedding in plaid style.
After explaining he'd left his kilt in a freezer back home in Christchurch, only realising he'd done so when he arrived in Australia, Dr MacPherson turned to Facebook with a desperate, and hilarious, appeal.
"I'm hoping someone from the Toowoomba Pipe Band can help a Scotsman who has left his kilt in Christchurch in a freezer," he posted.
The Chronicle jumped on board and helped Dr MacPherson share the appeal which was ultimately successful.
Dr MacPherson got the right gear from a Brisbane hire shop after a tip from the Toowoomba community.
It meant the wedding at Seasons on Ruthven went ahead with Scottish flair and a hilarious story.
