Gold Coast police seeking help after hit and run

GOLD Coast police are appealing for public assistance after a man was injured in an alleged hit and run in Mermaid Waters.

The 22-year-old male was found unconscious on the Gold Coast Highway at around 4:30am on Wednesday March 18.

He was suffering from head injuries and a broken leg that police believe were consistent with being hit by a vehicle.

He was seen in a convenience store on the Gold Coast Highway prior to the incident and is described as being Caucasian, 180 cm tall with brown hair and was wearing black pants and a black shirt with white shoes.

As the Forensic Crash Unit continues to investigate, police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw the man on the night on the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
