Girl airlifted to hospital after being kicked in face by horse

A YOUNG girl has been flown to hospital after she was kicked in the face by a horse on a property outside Roma.

The LifeFlight helicopter flew the girl from the Wallumbilla Showgrounds around 3.30pm on Sunday after paramedics drove her from the property where it happened earlier that day.

Surat OIC Sergeant Mark Perske was driving past when he saw the ambulance at the showgrounds.

"The paramedics have deemed her condition serious enough to warrant the use of the LifeFlight helicopter," he said at the scene.

More to come.
