German rising star downs Federer for fifth title of year
ALEXANDER Zverev has again shown it's not all about the golden oldies in 2017 after the 20-year-old stunned red-hot favourite Roger Federer in the final of the Montreal Masters.
The super impressive German downed the Swiss master 6-1 6-3 to claim his fifth title of the season - the same number as the evergreen Federer.
Zverev was coming off a tournament win in Washington, and is now a clear contender for next month's US Open.

The 36-year-old Federer suffered just his third loss of a season and saw his longest winning streak in five years ended at 16.
Federer was aiming to post a 94th career title which would have moved him into a tie for second with Ivan Lendl, behind Jimmy Connors (109).
