Roma's George is at his Best when he’s rocking

HE MIGHT be 73, but Roma's George Best can still rock n roll like in his hey-day.

Mr Best, who shares his name with the famed Manchester United soccer player, made the most of Blue Care's Christmas in July luncheon on Friday.

Dressed in his best old suit and green scarf, Mr Best pulled out the guitar and played classic tunes like Old Tom Dooley and Your Cheating Heart.

He said his favourite pastime on weekends was going down to the local pub and dancing the night away.

"I won a dancing contest once," he said.

"I used to be a dancer and a rock 'n' roller - we used to get up and jive."

Blue Care Roma personal carer Connie Currie said the event was requested by it participants, who like Mr Best live independently but still need support services.

"They kept bringing it up that about Christmas in July and said they wanted to have a chance to wear suits and nice outfits," she said.
