Galloway's triumphant hereford bull success

THE Galloway family has recently returned from the Ekka crowned as champions.

After success at Rockhampton Beef Week this year, their grand champion hereford bull, Cootharaba Xplicit, took on the Ekka.

"At the Ekka he took out Senior and Grand Champion Hereford Bull wins,” owner Anne Galloway said.

"The 28-month-old son of Hunday Hartland weighed in at 1110kg with an eye muscle area of 137sqcm, displaying a great carcase body along with his athleticism,” she said.

The champion bull is now up for private sale.

With Cootharaba Herefords stud being founded in 1926 by Ian Galloway's grandfather, the current studmaster, 2018 makes the 90th year Cootharaba Herefords have shown in Brisbane.

The Galloway family said this year there would be no on-property bull sales, but private sales.

"There are 50 hereford bulls for private sales and females are also available for sale, as well as Duarran Brangus bulls and females,” Mrs Galloway said.
