IF YOU saw the LifeFlight helicopter in Roma on Wednesday don't be alarmed - it was just a practice run.

The Roma-based helicopter and crew collaborated with the local Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Fire and Rescue crews to conduct a simulation to help train for real-life events.

The real-life exercise revolved around the scenario of a 60-year-old man who was unconscious inside a silo and there was a strange chlorine smell coming from inside.

Each service played out their role as the mock emergency event unfolded.

The training offered a great chance for an inter-agency approach to an emergency situation.

It also helped each emergency service to understand what their roles were and how they could work seamlessly with one another to ensure the best outcome for a patient.
