THE splashing of water and a chorus of laughs could be heard on Friday night while the Injune pool hosted a movie night as part of the Maranoa Regional Council school holiday program.

The pool showed Inside Out on the big screen, attracting large numbers to the event.

Injune Swimming Club president Tamara McFadzen said it was a great way to finish off the school holidays.

“It’s a good opportunity for kids and parents to catch up before school goes back,” she said.

“It’s a nice free community event. I would like to thank the council for their support.”

Ms McFadzen said the event was a great fundraiser for the club.

“We go away to compete at the Glennie Aquatic Centre swim camp each September school holidays,” she said.

“The money raised helps the club provide coaches for training, trophies and build the club up.”

Injune Swimming Club member Bayley Banks said he came to have fun with friends before school started.
