The beginning of the Autumn social calendar kicked off over the weekend with more than 430 people attending the sell out Black Toyota Black Tie Ball ahead of Saturday's Picnic Races.

The evening began with canapes on the lawn of Bassett Park before guests were treated to a three-course sit down dinner and music by Brisbane band Red Tie until midnight.

The venue was transformed with long white tables that were adorned with native flora and chrysanthemums. Fairy lights hung suspended above the tables and draped up to a centrepiece chandelier made of native flora.
